The Benignis Girls School Solar Project is a small-scale solar energy system installed at Benignis Girls Secondary School in Tanzania. The project was designed to improve access to reliable electricity for education and support better learning conditions for students.
With an installed capacity of approximately 5 kWp and 7 kWh of battery storage, the system provides clean and dependable power to the school, enabling students to study at night and improving overall learning activities.
The project supplies electricity to more than 600 students, helping to enhance academic performance and strengthen the school’s educational environment. Since the installation, the school has achieved notable academic improvement and is considered among the stronger-performing schools in the region.
This installation also marked an important milestone as the first solar project completed by the team in Tanzania, representing the beginning of their solar energy work in the country.
